Get ready to indulge in a mouthwatering Citrus-Glazed Broiled Salmon, where a reduction of orange juice infused with garlic, ginger, lemon, lime, and soy sauce creates a flavor-packed glaze. Let's dive in and unlock the oven's potential!
Ingredients:
4 salmon fillets (6 oz/170g each)
1/2 cup orange juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional garnish: sliced green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions:
Preheat your oven on the broil setting. Adjust the oven rack to a position about 6 inches away from the broiler element.
In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and honey (or maple syrup). Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly. Add lemon juice & lime juice. Set aside.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and place them on a broiler pan or a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Drizzle the olive oil over the salmon fillets and season them with salt and pepper.
Brush the citrus glaze generously over the salmon fillets, reserving some for serving.
Place the pan with the salmon under the preheated broiler. Broil for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Baste the salmon with the remaining glaze halfway through cooking.
Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This allows the flavors to meld together and the juices to redistribute.
Serve the Citrus-Glazed Broiled Salmon hot, drizzling with any remaining glaze. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Indulge in the succulent and flavorful Citrus-Glazed Broiled Salmon, where the broil function of your oven takes center stage. The reduction of orange juice, infused with garlic, ginger, lemon, lime, and soy sauce, creates a tangy and aromatic glaze that perfectly complements the richness of the salmon.
